Only handguns, shotguns, .22 rimfire and center-fire rifles chambered for handgun calibers (.45 colt, .44 spl, .44 mag, .44-40, .38-40, .38-.357 mag, .32-20, .9mm) may be discharged in the pistol berms #1- #7
Size 7-1/2 shot is the largest shot size that can be used on the shotgun range
Spectators must remain behind safety barriers unless they are escorted by a range officer or are receiving training
This is a cold range. firearms must be unloaded and holstered, or if on a table/bench must be unloaded with actions open until a shooter is on the firing line and/or has been given the command to load by a range officer
All NRA safety rules will be observed
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the firing line, in spectator areas, and while any organized shooting activities are in progress
Drugs are prohibited in all areas at all times
Children must be supervised at all times
Specific rules and regulations of the various disciplines will be explained and/or posted at the start of any organized shooting activities
Unsafe and/or unsportsmanlike conduct may be grounds for revocation of range privileges
YOUR RANGE ACCESS BADGE MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE AT THE RANGE
HIGH POWER RANGE On this Range, All Center Fire Rifle Calibers up to and INCLUDING 50 BMG , may be used. No Incendiary, Tracer or Armor Piercing Rounds are allowed If YOU are the first person to arrive at the firing line, YOU put up the flag and, YOU become the Range Officer. The rule is that if YOU are the first one there, you are the Range Officer. If another member arrives and wants to shoot, YOU are still the Range Officer. If you leave and the other Member remains, that member becomes the Range Officer.
THIS IS A COLD RANGE. FIREARMS MUST BE UNLOADED AND HOLSTERED, OR IF ON A TABLE/BENCH MUST BE UNLOADED WITH ACTIONS OPEN UNTIL BEING GIVEN THE OK TO LOAD BY THE RANGE OFFICER
All NRA safety rules will be enforced
All BLGC Range Safety Rules also apply
No parking on the firing line. You may unload your vehicle but must park in the designated parking area behind the firing line
There is only 1 firing line. Do not shoot from anywhere but the gravel or designated shooting area
When The RED flag is up- THE RANGE IS HOT! No one is to go down range! You may handle your weapons. The Range Officer will give the command to Commence shooting
When The YELLOW Flag is up- the RANGE IS COLD! But not safe to handle weapons! NO GUN HANDLING OF ANY KIND AT THIS TIME! You may go down range to set or paste your targets. If you arrive when the Yellow flag is raised, that means shooters are down range. Please leave your firearms in their case until the shooters return and the Range Officer Says it is safe to remove and handle them
Short range shooting, 25 Yards, can only be done at the far West Lane where the 25 yard Berm is located. All other shooting must be done on the designated yard lines
No cross range shooting. Shoot in your numbered lane only. Be sure all bullets will impact the down range berms
Steel or Reactive targets must be set at 400, 500, or 600 yards only
Approved Shooting Matches have priority. Please check to make sure there are no Matches scheduled when YOU make plans to go to use this range. If you don’t, you may have to wait a long time for the Match to be completed
Please clean up all your trash, spent brass, steel cases, including all your used targets and deposit them in the trash cans provided
Emergency Procedures
In the event of a serious accident or illness at/on Ben Lomond property please follow this procedure:
If in your judgment the situation calls for an emergency response Dial 911 using the phone in the Clubhouse or the phone at the Caretakers house, whichever is closer/ available. This will initiate the quickest response from emergency personnel. The BLGC address is 23195 County Road 105, Ramah, CO.
If in your judgment the situation threatens life, or limb call 911 to request a flight for lifeBLGC IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 6.5 MILES NORTH/NORTHWEST OF RAMAH ON ELBERT COUNTY ROAD 105. THE GPS COORDINATES ARE:NORTH 39.12.316 WEST 104.11.034 ALTITUDE 6,203
If you or someone else is knowledgeable in First Aid, use whatever procedures deemed appropriate to make the victim as comfortable as possible. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE VICTIM UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. There are Major Trauma First Aid Kits located at each of the shooting venues. Please become familiar with their locations.
After emergency services have been notified make sure a Cease-Fire has been called at all active ranges.
Notify the BLGC Ranch Manager about the emergency at 719-541-2255.
Have a person at the Gate to meet with the emergency responders and guide them to the location of the ill/injured victim.
